Woman in the Iron Coffin

Homicide? This body in the iron coffin? They opened it as a crime scene investigation. But no. They were dealing with 150-year-old remains.

Definitely one of the more interesting smallpox stories I’ve run across. I had to share this Newsweek article with you. The photo above is the facial reconstruction included in the article.

Bee, I watched the “Woman in the Iron Coffin” and was fascinated by the amount of detective work that went in to discovering her identity. What a beautiful woman she was and what a shame to have such a devastating disease take her life at a young age. Thank you for recommending it.
